Leonardo DiCaprio has a very good year, to say the least. He’s won an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and is rumoured to have a new girlfriend who just happens to be a Victoria’s Secret model. It turns out that Leo can now add another achievement to his 2016 bucket list: having a rap about him performed by The Rock and Kevin Hart.

Before the release of The Revenant, there was a widespread internet rumour that revealed how Leo’s character in the film gets raped by a bear. The rumours went so far that 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the film, were forced to release a statement saying: “As anyone who has seen the movie can attest, the bear in the film is a female who attacks Hugh Glass because she feels he might be threatening her cubs. There is clearly no rape scene with a bear.”

So what exactly has an awry Leo rumour got to do with a rap by the Rock and Kevin Hart, I hear you ask? Their recent performance at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, which you can watch on the next page, reveals all.

Despite the statement, the cultural memory of Leo getting f*cked by a bear still remains. Like anything that’s deeply ingrained in our collective consciousness, it needed a rap written about it. The Rock and Kevin Hart were happy to oblige at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, where they rapped such lines as: “Leo got f*cked by a bear, you’ll always remember where you were when Leo got f*cked by a bear.”

The performance was backed by several dancers wearing head to toe bear costumes, further adding to the weirdness. The star-studded audience also got involved, with stars such as Rebel Wilson, Adam DeVine and Anthony Mackie all getting in on the action.

If you were wondering exactly where the frenzy surrounding Leo’s role in The Revenant came from in the first place, you can thank the internet. A prime example of such enthusiasm comes from Mexico, where the internet assembled in real life to celebrate Leo’s Oscars win. The footage (which you can see on the next page), taken in Monterrey, Mexico, shows hundreds of locals taking to the streets to celebrate shortly after his big win was announced.
