On D-Day, the Normandy Landings happened during the Second World War. It is known as the biggest seaborne invasion ever. Also called as Operation Neptune, the D-Day landings in Normandy were responsible for liberating the northwestern sections of Europe that were controlled by Germany’s Nazis.
During this dark day, about 1,000 German men perished while the Allies had 10,000 casualties. D-Day is a stark reminder of what happens when peace is unseen in the world we all live in.
