Designers and stylists use fashion illustrations as vehicles for communicating their latest creations, and for many, the figures themselves are afterthoughts, secondary to the birth of a garment.
And that’s completely fine. After all, that is their intended purpose. What one artist by the name of Edgar Artis is doing with the technique, however, is a welcome departure. With atypical materials and strategic cutouts that mirror his unconventional take on an otherwise one-note style, his work is a beautiful blip on the sartorial radar.
