Dramatic Roll Cloud Caught On Camera Gliding Over Florida Town

Video footage has emerged of a dramatic roll cloud, gliding over the Florida town of Davie.

The cloud was spotted on Tuesday, March 29 and uploaded to Twitter.

Known as gust fronts, these impressive cloud formations are the result of storm-cooled air moving outward and forming a cloud barrier with the surrounding warmer air.

Roll clouds and shelf clouds are two types of arcus clouds. An arcus cloud is a low, horizontal cloud formation.

A shelf cloud is usually associated with the leading edge of thunderstorm outflow.
