It took years after years, but the rhythmic pounding of the waves transformed a former garbage heap into a glowing paradise. The “glass beach” near Vladivostok, Russia, now charges visitors a small fee to see the prior dumping ground.
Waste from a nearby porcelain factory and truckloads of empty glass bottles almost completely cover the volcanic black sand. But natural erosion wore down the shards to tiny, jewel-like pebbles. And what people see now is an unusual shore which is quite marvelous. Take a look for yourself and witness it’s true beauty.
