final celebs joining the Strictly Come Dancing 2017

And the final contestants of the popular Dance show ‘Strictly’ has been announced! They will be Alexandra Burke & Jonnie Peacock. The news was confirmed on The One Show on Monday evening following on from the announcement that Debbie McGee would also be putting on her dancing shoes.

Here are the views of both these contestants regarding the show. Let’s hear from Alexandra first –

“I am a singer not a dancer, the dancing I have done is so different to this,” said Alexandra. ’The joke is my family have also just found out now, but they all said to me “if you ever get Strictly you’ll be great”, but it’s so different. Doing the waltz today felt fabulous,” she continued.

As far as Jonnie is concerned, he says ‘The opportunity to be the first contestant with a disability to take part in Strictly’s main show was too good to turn down.”

‘I’ve got no previous dance history outside of the occasional “worm” at a mate’s party and I know this will be a challenge and a new experience. I can’t wait to see what I can achieve and how far I can push myself.’

Both these Strictly contestants are excited about the show & hoping that they will give their best in the episodes. They just can’t believe they are in the show. Alexandra explains it a BBC, ‘I am so excited to be joining this year’s Strictly cast! I love this show and have followed it from the beginning, so being able to be a part of it is just a dream come true for me – I still can’t believe it!’

Johnny and Alexandra join Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins and Holby City actress Chizzy Akudolu who were both confirmed on Monday morning, as well as Debbie McGee who was announced earlier on The One Show.

The five join the already announced line-up of Ruth Langsford, Gemma Atkinson, Davood Ghadami, Simon Rimmer, Mollie King, Susan Calman, Reverend Richard Coles, Joe McFadden, Brian Conley and Aston Merrygold.

The audience is eagerly waiting for the show to start. All the contestants are good & they all are excited to perform in front of the world & showcase their talent. Good luck to all the contestants!
