Google Begins Rolling Out Its Latest Algorithm Update – Google Panda 4.2

Google algorithm updates always rouse a storm on the internet community as they directly affect website rankings. The latest such refresh is Google Panda 4.2, which began on 18th July, 2015. However, the rollout is extremely slow and that’s the reason people didn’t notice it. According to Google, it may take months till the time we are able to notice any significant impact on the website rankings. It might also not affect all the pages of a website in the short run. Google officials were tight-lipped about why the rollout is so slow.

This refresh is happening just after 10 months from the last update that was rolled out in September last year. As Google algorithm updates keep on happening periodically, it’s considered to be the 30th such update. It was difficult even for the webmasters to notice the update as it’s rolling out at a very slow pace. Its impact is limited to 3% of the queries made in the English language. So, it can both be good news and bad news for different website owners.

Good news first – If your site was penalized by Google in September 2014 following the previous Panda update, then Google is offering you yet another chance to recover. But, it will happen only if you have made necessary changes in your website. However, you’ll be able to notice the improvement in rankings only after some time. It’s a change of pattern as the impact of the previous Google updates on the incoming traffic was felt immediately after they were rolled out.
