The rivals of the Premier League believe that Man city’s manager Pep Guardiola will offload him(Raheem Sterling) once his new team takes shape.
While Manchester City says that Sterling remains an integral part of Guardiola’s plans, last week, there were conflicting stories over whether Sterling had been offered to Arsenal as part of City’s bid for Alexis Sanchez, or whether the Gunners had asked for him as part of any deal.
Guardiola is expected to try again to sign Sanchez in January or next summer. This will increase pressure on Raheem Sterling. And it may cast serious doubt on the future of the England international if he is successful.
Sterling had suffered difficult days with the England squad after being taken off at half-time in Malta and losing his place to Marcus Rashford for the Slovakia game. Rashford’s goal means that Sterling will now face a fight to get back into the England’s team for the final World Cup qualifying games against Slovenia and Lithuania.
If City make a new bid to try to sign Sanchez in the January transfer window, Arsenal could well enquire about Sterling again in the New Year. Sterling joined City in a deal that could eventually be worth £49million in the summer of 2015 from Liverpool.
As per reports, City would not sell to Manchester United, while the player could not return to Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur could not afford his transfer fee or wages.
So, let’s wait for the decision made by Pep Guardiola, which will decide the future of Raheem Sterling.
