A young boy with cystic fibrosis was granted his wish to become a superhero for the day and save Sydney from the evil supervillain Ultron.

Domenic Pace became Iron Boy for the day thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, receiving a message of support from Robert Downey Jr before the mission.

The nine-year-old was transformed into a mini version of Iron Man, who is played by Downey Jr. in the Avengers films.

During his day as a superhero, the youngster got to ride on a speedboat, take on his arch-nemesis Ultron in front of a cheering crowd at Sydney Opera House, take a helicopter ride and save the day.

Iron Boy received celebrity support from Robert Downey Jr, the actor who plays Tony Stark, his alter ego, in the Iron Man and Avengers films. “Sent a very special boy on a top secret mission today. Go get ’em, Domenic,” the actor tweeted.
