It looks like APP felt insecure with all the slogans like the ‘achche din aaeingay’ taken away by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). So, the Aam Aadmi Party has formulated their own one “Will make Delhi like London.” Yes, these are the exact words quoted by the Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal.
Election Campaign is the only event where one get to hear such outlandish claims and promises. On Sunday, the Delhi Chief Minister, while inaugurating the civic amenities in 3 areas of Delhi, made this statement that managed to create quite a frenzy on Twitter. “Once we win in MCD, in one year, we will make Delhi so spick and span that you will compare it with London”, he said. He further pointed out that city counselor who used to “roam around on cycles and scooters” now owns “five bungalows and five cars each”, referring to the rising corruption in the city.
We all know that our Indian politicians or the Netaji’s don’t shy away from making outlandish claims before the elections. But these claims usually leave them as the perfect materials for Twitter trolls or memes. People were still digesting the BJP’s ‘achche din’ memes but it looks like the AAP felt left out.
The Aam Aadmi Party government has been a source of inspiration for several jokes and memes on Twitter and Facebook, over the party’s unfulfilled promise to provide free access to Wi-Fi across Delhi. The Delhi Chief Minister has now given another trigger for more trolls and jokes on social media. Some of them are already on a roll.
