Lloyd Jones, 89, thought the photos from his wedding day were gone forever after he accidentally donated them to a charity shop
Your wedding is meant to be the most special day of your life – and newlyweds love to splash the cash on a photographer so they can cherish those precious memories forever.
But one unlucky man was devastated to realise that he had accidentally donated his whole wedding album to a charity shop.
Lloyd Jones, 89, from Perth in western Australia, gave away an old cabinet to charity when he moved into a retirement home.
Unbeknown to him, his precious wedding photos were inside – and seemingly lost forever.
That was until a British backpacker happened to stumble across them and did everything in her power to reunite the album with its owner.
Holly Edwards, who had only been in Perth for about a fortnight, was working in a second-hand shop when she found the priceless treasure in an old cabinet and posted pictures on Facebook in an attempt to find the man featured in the photographs.
Lloyd had no idea his wedding photos were missing until recently, but was ‘gobsmacked’ to be reunited with them, adding: “It’s so wonderful to see them again.”
Looking through the album, he shared his fond memories of the day with Holly, pointing out his best man.
It’s safe to say he won’t be losing that again any time soon.
