Twitter Sensation Virender Sehwag’s Tweet “Bat Me Hai Dum! #BharatJaisiJagahNahi” Received Mixed Reactions

Virender Sehwag, cricketer, commentator, and current sensation on Twitter, has yet again allowed his bat to do the talking through the medium. He has become a king of as he shares his views on the latest social media debate following the ruckus that was caused in Ramjas College. Tweet by Sehwag:

This tweet by Viru was after the unfortunate violence that took place on February 22 at the Delhi University College in which teachers and students clashed with members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). It was because ABVP had disrupted the first session of the seminar on the Indian tribes. ABVP disrupted the session over the participation of two students from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Shehla Rashid and Umar Khalid.

A few days after this incident, Gurmehar Kaur, the daughter of Capt. Mandeep Singh, a Kargil Martyr changed her profile picture on Facebook to a picture in which she had a placard in her hand saying that she is a student of DU and she is not afraid of ABVP. She’s not alone and all the students of India are with her. She has been the voice of Ram Volunteer as well and last year she did a similar thing by posting that it was not Pakistan that killed her dad. It was war.

The profile picture change started a campaign online as a lot of students started doing the same by changing their profile pictures with ones in which they are holding a similar message.

Sehwag’s tweet was in response to the message by Kaur and it has drawn a lot of flak from Twitterati. They have called him insensitive and asked him to choose his opponents a little more wisely. Here are some of the tweets:-
