Vikas Khanna’s Timeless Love for His Father…

Tears are probably one of the most natural responses to death. Death is the most harrowing yet unavoidable experience of life. And coming in terms with the reality is never easy, especially when you have lost a loved one.

Recently, Master Chef Vikas Khanna expressed his feelings on Facebook over the loss of his father. The post kind of makes one realize that nothing in this entire universe is timeless, so it’s important for us to cherish the people around us while the time lasts.

Heads-up – The post might leave you teary eyed.

Vikas wrote:

“On Jan 31, 2015, as a morning ritual I called home to speak to my Mom and Dad. Dad was super excited for 2 reasons, Serena Williams was playing Finals for Australian Open and Mercedes had signed me up for their association. He told me that it was his dream to drive his son’s Merc. I laughingly said that why didn’t you tell me before, he joked and said ‘you had never asked.’ We laughed as usual and disconnected.”

“At noon on the same day, he passed away.”

He articulated about his tragic experience, telling that a child is never ready for such loss; it takes away a piece from your heart, making one feel empty and betrayed by God with the feeling of being left unprotected to this world.

“I still wonder about the line he said ‘you had never asked.’”, he wrote, regretting that there was so much more he could have done for his father, made him proud and fulfilled all his wishes.
