Travelling in trains just got a little more exciting. A train passenger can now enjoy KFC’s meals on board as the fast food chain has tied up with IRCTC to start a delivery system for passengers. From July 20 onwards, train passengers can book their KFC meal while booking through IRCTC.
This comes months after IRCTC tied up with Domino’s Pizza to deliver pizzas to passengers on their seat as a part of its endeavour to offer wide variety to passengers to choose from and to make available the popular food brands in market under its newly launched e-catering services.
What started as an experiment is now a full fledged business. Domino’s now offers delivery of pizzas on more than 200 train services and plans to roll out ordering for dozens of new routes in coming months, reports Wall Street Journal.
For now, the KFC food delivery facility is available only on 12 trains passing through New Delhi railway station. However, soon it will be expanded to Vishakhapatnam, Hyderabad (Kacheguda) and Bangalore (Yeshwantpur) stations over the next 10 days, the statement added. So, how do you have to order?
“Consumers will have to visit the IRCTC website or call on 18001034139 (Toll Free) to place their order. A password will then be sent by KFC to the consumer’s mobile phone which will have to be mentioned at the time of delivery,” the KFC statement said.
